LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE ELECTRIFY COLOMBIA An already successful first promotional stop for "MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends” Miami, FL-(October 13, 2011) -- As was to be expected, the tireless Los Tigres del Norte caused an uproar upon their arrival at the airport in Bogotá, Colombia, as they made their first stop on the "MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends” promotional tour. A mariachi, a norteño music group, and various other musicians gathered along with fans to greet the Regional Mexican music starts, whose admirers were so numerous and enthusiastic that they nearly blocked the way to the exit. With said demonstration of love and support, the "Los Jefes de Jefes” (Chiefs of Chiefs) start what is already a successful promotional tour in Colombia, where they will be presenting songs from their new album in Bogotá and Villavicencio this weekend. Prior to their Colombian shows, Los Tigres del Norte conducted an intense promotional tour speaking to the country’s leading media. During one of the live interviews, the stars were presented with a Gold record for stellar sales of their hit album "MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends” in Colombia. The tireless "Jefes de Jefes” (Chiefs of Chiefs) continued their promotional tour encompassing radio, television and print media, and offered a press conference where media had the opportunity to learn more about the extensive and successful career of Los Tigres del Norte. Finalizing the press conference, the group’s Fan Club had the opportunity to share with them a few moments where they expressed their unconditional support and of course thanked them for their kindness to the Colombian people. Los Tigres del Norte continue making musical history with their latest album, "MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends” a landmark production and a first in MTV history as the only Unplugged to feature Regional Mexican music and six superstar collaborators, uniting generations of viewers and merging different genres of music, allowing fans to hear and see the essence of the legendary band for the first time in collaboration with contemporary icons like Paulina Rubio, Juanes, Andrés Calamaro, Zack de la Rocha, Calle 13 and Diego Torres. The MTV Unplugged was recorded on February 8 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA, and was broadcast via Tr3s, MTV, VH1 Latinoamerica and MTV España on May 22, 2011.
